ARBELA ADAMS is a native of Rutland county, Vermont, and first came toOttawa, Illinois, in 1835, and in 1840 to Portland, settling upon thesame place where he now resides. He married Miss Olive Hawes in 1826.Their children are: Helen E., wife of W. H. Wellington, living inSterling; Charles F., who married Miss Sarah Brown, and lives inPortland; Sarah F., wife of David B. Seely, living in Sterling;Egbert, who married Miss Sally Paget, and lives in Portland; and Mary,living in Portland. Mr. Adams was born in 1804
