April 23, 1928 -- Jan. 12, 2005

Longtime area resident Ernest Groshong of Sequim died in Port Angelesat age 76.

He was born in St. Charles, Mo., to Ernest R. and Amanda (Schnarr)Groshong.

He married Elizabeth Lukey in Old Monroe, Mo., on Sept. 5, 1948.

Mr. Groshong came to the Peninsula in 1969 and retired as a riggerfrom ITT Rayonier.

Mr. Groshong enjoyed wildlife, especially feeding his eight pet deerand bevies of quail. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing. smelting,clamming and crabbing.

Survivors include his wife; son and daughter-in-law Michael and LeeAnn Groshong of Donald, Ore.; daughter and son-in-law Connie and RonBullock of Shelton; daughter Mary Lambert of Alberta; sisters JoAnnMilks of Albuquerque, N.M., and Carol Baldwin of St. Charles, Mo.; 10grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services: Private services at a later date. Harper-Ridgeview FuneralChapel, Port Angeles, is in charge or arrangements.
