"George D. Grace, lifetime Oregon resident and retired building contractor, died Saturday at his home at 10617 SW 35th Drive. He was 76.
Mr. Grace, who also bred horses and was an active member of the American Rhododendron Society, was born June 25, 1897, in Timber Grove.
Surviving are his wife, Esther; sons, James T. of Corpus Christi, Tex., Dr. Stephen G. of Torrance, Calif., and Dr. Thomas G. of Kaneehe, Hawaii; two daughters, Shirley D. Hackworth of Greenleaf, Idaho, and Carolyn G. McCarthy of Honolulu; a brother, Charles T. of Beaverton; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in J. P Finley & Son mortuary, with interment in Lincoln Memorial Park.
The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the Oregon Heart Association."
