Graduated from Stanford University June, 1952. Served in U.S. Navy 1952-1955 on the aircraft carrier Kearsarge as a lieutenant. Married March 29, 1958. Graduated from U.C. Berkeley School of Law June, 1958. Practicing attorney for 53 years. Member and president, Rotary of Los Gatos; member, Christian Legal Society; elder, Los Gatos Christian Church; member, Gideons International; board member, Saratoga Federated Church/Foundation. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Marian Gifford; son and daughter in law Paul and Jennifer Gifford and grandchildren Matthew and Andrew; son and daughter in law John and Erin Gifford and grandchildren Philip and Olivia; sister Betty Cooley; nephew Todd Cooley; niece Claudia Cooley. Services will be held at Saratoga Federated Church (20390 Park Place, Saratoga) Sat, March 23rd at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mount Hermon Association or Hospice of the Valley.
