"Louis Deines
One of the 16 children of Peter and Christine Deines, was born Oct.24, 1892 at the family homestead in south Russell County, Kansas. Hisdeath occurred on December 6, 1969 at a hospital in Keokuk, Iowa. Hisage was 77 years, one month and 12 days.
Baptized in early infancy and later confirmed in the Lutheran Churchat Milberger, he retained his faith until his death.
He attended rural school and was later graduated from businesscollege. He was united in marriage to Katherine Krug on Dec. 7, 1919,at the Milberger Church. There were 7 children born to this union:Mrs. Ruth Ehrlich, Bunker Hill, Kansas; Harvey Deines, Denver, Colo;Mrs. Rosalinda Ivey, Golden, Colo; Mrs. Rozella McKibben, Daly City,Calif.; Lloyd Deines, Denver, Colo.; Waldean Deines, Bellevue, Neb.;and Gerald Deines, San Mateo, Calif. Mrs. Deines engaged in farmingmost of his lifetime and farmed his land in the Milberger communityuntil 1938. His wife preceded him in death Dec. 1, 1934. He farmedfor a number of years in Missouri, then later lived in Moran, Kansasand Denver, Colo. On December 4, 1956, he was united in marriage tothe former Clara Reitz of LaGrange, Mo., who survives him at theirfarm home in LaGrange. Mr. Deines had been in failing health since hewas in a car accident about 3 years ago, but had been here to visithis children earlier this year.
To treasure and cherish his many acts and deeds of love, devotion andsacrifice, and remember his cheerful, friendly, good-natureddisposition, are his wife and children already mentioned, 15grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many other relatives andclose friends.

Conducted from the Bailey Funeral Home, LaGrange, Mo., Tuesday, Dec.9, 1969 at 10 a.m., and from the Milberger Lutheran Church south ofRussell, Kansas, on Wednesday, Dec. 10 ta 2 p.m., Rev. Gilbert Kislingconducting the service here.
