"Daniel Deines, 68, Olympia, Wa., died Sunday, April 6, 1986, inCapitol Park Care Center, Tumwater. Dan Deines was born September 26,1917, in Russell, Kansas to Jacob and Mary Deines. He attended schoolsin Kansas.
He moved to Olympia, Washington in 1939 and worked as a carpenter onmany of the new state office buildings and the Olympia Brewery. He wasmarried to Marilyn
Canfield in 1953 in Olympia.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of the family home, include twosons, Larry and Gary, both of Olympia; two stepsons, Gene Schroeder,Idaho and Robert Schroeder, California; his mother, Mary Deines,Tumwater; a brother, Paul Deines, Port Angeles, Washington; fivesisters, Molly Berschauer, WaKeeney, Kansas, Martha Mai, SharonSprings, Kansas, Marie Koleber and Helen Dietz, Greeley, Colorado,Elfrieda Graham, Redmond, Washington; and also nine gerandchildren andmany nieces and nephews including Norma Cunningham, WaKeeney.
He was preced in death by his father Jacob Deines and sisters Wilmetaand Anita, and brothers Alfred, Emanuel, S.H. "Slick" and HerbertDeines.
A graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m., April 8 in Olympia MemorialGardena, Tumwater with the Rev. Elmelr E. Griese of Trinity LutheranChurch of Olympia, Wa., officiating. Mills and Mills Funeral Directorswere in charge of arrangements."
