Pg. 11, Early Church Records of Chester Co., PA, Vol. 3, Kennett Monthly Meeting, says:
"CLEMSON, THOMAS granted a certificate to Sudbury [sic] 1740.4.7. Received on certificate from Sadsbury 1744.7.1. 1747.2.4 Newark Preparative Meeting reported that he "hath acted th which appeared to them to be Scandalous." 1747.3.2 reported that he "hath been guilty of keeping company both night and day with one cloathed in mans apparrell but supposed to be a woman, which he finally acknowledged." 1747.8.3 reported that he was "not in a disposition to make satisfaction and that he has accomplished his marriage by a magistrate."
CLEMSO, THOMAS granted a certificate to Sadsbury, 1755.12.6.

Deceased } Whereas I Thomas Clemson of the Township of Salbury in the County of Lancaster and State of Pennsylvania In the Year of Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and eighty five the Seventh day of the eighth Month 1785 Being weak in Body but of perfect Memory thanks be to Almight [sic] God and Calling to Remembrance the Uncertain State of this Transitory Life And that all flesh must yield unto Death when it shall please God ____ _____ [dark top and right of page 2]
So Make Constitute ordain and declare this my Last Will and Testament in Manner and form following; Revoking and disannulling by these presents all and Every Testament and Testaments Will and Wills heretofore by me Made and declared either by word or wrighting [sic] and this to be taken only for My Last Will and Testament, and none other, And first I Commend my Soul to God, and my body to be Buried in Such a place as my Executors hereafter Named shall Appoint And now for the Settling of my Temporal Estate and such Goods and Chattles and ???? as it hath pleased God to bestow me; I do order give and dispose the same in Manner and form following (that is to say) First I will that all then debts and dues as I owe in right or Conscience to any manner of person or persons whatsoever; shall be well and truly Contented and paid or ordered to be paid within Covenient time after my decease by my Executors hereafter Named. Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Elizabeth Clemson the Plantation whereon I now dwell whilst she Remains my widow and all my Personal Estate at her disposal. Item I give and bequeath to my Son John the before mentioned Plantation after my wifes Marriage or decease also the remaining part of the Mountain Except shall be hereafter Mentioned to him his Heirs and Assigns forever. Item I give and bequeath to my son James fifteen Acres of Land Joining to my Brother John Clemsons Line in Leiu [sic] of a ???? I Received from him also Ten Acres more adjoining to it to him his heirs and Assigns forever. Item I give and bequeath to my Son in Law John Wilson and my Daughter Sarahs Children Namely John & Jane Wilson the Sum of five Shillings. Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth ten Acres of Land where Joseph Hall now dwells to be Said out as two freeholders shall think fit to her & her Heirs and Assigns forever. Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Tamer Ten Acres of Land where Henry Neal now dwells during her Natural to be Laid out as two freeholders shall think fit. Item I give and bequeath to my Son Thomas that Plantation whereon he now dwells and my daughter Tamers part after her decease, also my share of that Plantation where Charels Hufty Lives allowing him to pay what I owe to Joseph Gest to him and his Heirs and Assigns forever. Item I give and bequeath to my daughters Ann and Sophia Twenty five Acres of Land Joining to that I allow to my Son James if my Son John pleases if not I allow him to pay to them Fifty Pounds equally divided between them also I allow my Son John to pay what debts and Legacies which are to be paid Except such as are otherwise elsewhere Mentioned and Ordered him the said John Clemson and ??? his Brother Thomas Clemson to Execute the will according to the true Intent and Meaning thereof. Lancaster County SS On the third Day of December Anno Domini 1785 Before me the Subscriber personally appeared Gaius Dickinsonn and Joseph Dickinson Jur two of the Subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing will and on their Solemn Affirmation According to Law did Severally declare Affirm and say that they were present and Saw and heard Thomas Clemson the Testator within Named Sign Seal publish pronounce and declare the foregoing writing as his last will and Testament and that at the Doint he was of sound and well disposing Mind Memory and Understanding to the Best of their knowledge observation and Belief.

Be it remembered that on the Third Day of December Anno Domini 1785 The Last Will and testament of Thomas Clemson Late of Salsbury Township Deceased was proved in due form of Law and Letters Testamentary thereon were Granted to John Clemson and Thomas the Executors therein named they having been duly Qualified well and truly to administer the Estate of the said deceased and Especially to Exhibit a true and perfect Inventory thereof into the Registers office at Lancaster within one Month from this Date and to Render a Just and true account of their administration on said Estate within one year or when thereto Lawfully required.
Given under the Seal of said Office Philip Gloninger Dep’y Ag’s.
