This Indenture made and entered into this the twenty seventh day ofDecember in year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and fortythree, between Rountree Perry & Nancy his Wife late Nancy Benson,William Spiller & Winneford his Wife late Winneford Benson & ElizabethSpiller widow & relect of Benjamin Spiller Dec'd & late ElizabethBenson, of the County of Williamson & State of Illinois of the onepart, and William Benson of the County & State aforesaid of the otherpart witnesseth that the said Perry & wife, Spiller & wife & ElizabethSpiller heir & legal Representatives of William Benson Seniordeceased, hath for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars tothem in hand paid by the said William Bension, the receipt of which ishereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, and sold, and doth bythese presents give, grant, bargain and sell unto the said WilliamBenson his heirs or assignees all their right title claim andinterest, to their undivided moiety in a certain tract of land whereWilliam Benson Senior, deceased late lived, and where he departed thislife lying and being in Robertson County, State of Tennessee,Beginning at Melchen Ayler's corner, Running East one hundred and tenpoles John Talton Harris said corner, thence North one hundred andsixty poles to said Harris corner, thence East one hundred poles withhis line. thence one hundred and sixty poles to a stake, thence Westone hundred & ten poles Ayler's corner, thence with said line threehundred and twenty poles to the beginning, being part of a tract of640 acres granted by the State of North Carolina to Thomas Johnson,granted the 20th day of May 1793 No. 2314 Containing three hundred andtwenty acres together with two acres which said William Benson Sr.purchased of Lewis Pipkin part of the said original survey with theexception of one hundred acres sold said William Benson Sr. in hislifetime to William Benson Jr., both lying on the North & North Eastside of said tract of land, the undivided moiety of said land with alland singular the premises above mentioned and every part & parcelthereof unto the said William Benson his heirs or assigns forever andthe said Rountree Perry & Nancy his wife and the said William SpillerSenr. & Winneford his wife and Elizabeth Spiller heirs & legalRepresentatives of William Benson Senr. dec'd doth hereby covenant andagree to and with the said William Benson and his heirs or assigns towarrant and forever defend the said undivided moiety of land to extentof their undivided right claim and interest in the same (each) grantorhereby relinquishing all their said interest claim and demand to saiddescribed land to him said Benson & his heirs or assigns forever freefrom all other claims or manner of claims whatsoever. In testimonywhereof the said Perry & wife Spiller & wife & Elizabeth Spiller hathhereunto set their hands & affixed their seals the day & dateaforesaid.

Before the undersigned an acting Justice of the peace in and for saidCounty personally appeared Rountree Perry & Nancy Perry, his wife,late Nancy Benson, & William Spiller & Winneford Spiller his wife lateWinneford Benson, Elizabeth Spiller widow of Benjamin Spiller dec'dand late Elizabeth Benson, and them all well known to be the identicalpersons whose names appeared the foregoing deed of Conveyance, fromthem to William Benson and the said Rountree Perry & Nancy his wifelate Nancy Benson & William Spiller and Wenniford his wife lateWenniford Benson, and Elizabeth Spiller widow Benjamin Spiller & lateElizabeth Benson & been examined by me separate and apart from theirsaid husbands, acknowledged, that they assigned the same of their ownfree wills and deed, without the compulsion of their said husbands,taken & acknowledged before me, this the 28 day of December AD 1843.Wm. Turner,whose name appears to the within acknowledgement of a deed ofconveyance to William Benson is and was at the time the same wastaken, an acting magistrate, regularly qualified & commissioned forsaid County, and as such full faith is and of right ought to be givento all his official act.
