William was listed as a Freeman - so he was single. May very well be this man.
This was in Estherton (or Esthertown), Paxtang Twp., which is now in Dauphin County. Have shown marriagel to an unknown woman after 1772, based on this tax list.

Pennsylvania Archives Series V Vol VII, pg. 339, shows William Vincent on return of Capt. James Murray's company of Associators of the 4th Battalion of Lancaster county, commanded by James Burd, Esq.. The company, with others, went into service in November or December, 1775, and were present at the battles of Trenton and Princeton.

1808 Juniata Twp., Cumberland Co., PA, tax list; William Vincent: 190 acres of land & distillery; 1 horse 2 cows.
John Vincent again listed immediately following him, with no land, horses or cows.

It is not proven that William Vincent is John's father. However, the deed when John bought land said it was adjacent to land of William Vincent, among others; in 1800, the only Vincent family in Cumberland was that of William and he had two males of the age appropriate for John. In 1820, when John was head, there was an older male in the household.

1772 Tax List for Estherton in Paxtang Township, Lancaster Co., PA, has Wm. Vincent, a Freeman, with tax of £15.00. That is now an unincorporated area in Dauphin County, and is near Harrisburg. That would definitely make sense to be the same William.

Also, Pennsylvania Archives has some information that could very well be the same man. Series V Vol. VII, pg. 339-340, lists Captain James Murray's Company, Lancaster County, that went into service in November or December, 1776, and were present at the battles of Trenton and Princeton. Among the Privates is listed one William Vincent. That information is duplicated in Series 2 Vol. XIII, pg. 310-311.
In Series 2 Vol. XV pg. 389-390, The Roll of Capt. Charles Baltzel's Company, German Regiment, Commanded by Lt. Col. Weltner, Sept. 9, 1778, lists as a Private one William Vincent with date May 20, 1778. Note that there are a number of men with obvious Scots-Irish names, as well as mostly Germans - Fitzpatrick, McKay, McGrough, etc.. There is also one Daniel Bailor. That information is duplicated in Series 5 Vol. III pgs 795-796.
In Series V Vol VI, Pg. 132, Associators and Militia, Class Roll of Second Company, Second Battalion, Cumberland Co., 20 Sept. 1780, lists as 3d Class one William Vincent.
