Death: Feb. 7, 2005

Tom E. Vincent, 87, of Bozeman passed away suddenly Monday, Feb. 7, 2005. He was born Jan. 29, 1918, in McAllister, the son of Thomas J. and Margaret (Clark) Vincent. He was educated in Manhattan and Belgrade. Tom married Marjorie Stucky on June 24, 1944, in Bozeman. They were "best friends" which was reflected in all their endeavors as they followed their dream of country living which included building their own home, raising winter wheat, hay, barley, Angus cattle, and fryers.
After many years working in Montana State University's physical plant, Tom retired. He and Marge then worked full time on their ranch and spent their vacation time traveling the United States in their RV.
In his younger years, Tom loved to roam Montana's majestic outdoors. He tied his own flies and could be found along the banks of fresh-water streams enticing fish to rise, plus leading Marge and friends on numerous pack trip adventures.
He also was a great entertainer. Tom's stories would regale an audience, and a single yodeling chorus, accompanied by his own special brand of honkytonk piano, often drew a spontaneous crowd of dancing feet. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harry and Herman; and three nephews.
Survivors include his wife, Marge of Bozeman; two daughters, Vickie Mikat of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Deborah Cowlishaw of Chatham, N.J.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Weber of Deer Lodge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dahl Funeral Chapel. The family will be present to greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Cremation will follow the services. Interment of the urn will be held at a later date at McAllister Cemetery.
