Per bio of son, David, when a small girl, Elmira was taken by her parents to Ohio, then considered the far west. The journey thither and the return were by wagon, and the road was through the wilderness,still occupied by the Indians, who gave the travelers much annoyance. It does not list her parents names. It also states that his maternal great-grandparents came from Germany.
Bio of son William Nelson states her name as Eleaenora, that she was born in Perry Co. in 1823 and died at Wila, PA, in 1909. [Wila is in Perry County]
