Text: Maurice "Sparky" Stanhouse, 75, of 504 N. Sixth St., Elkville,died at 11a.m. Friday in Memorial Hospital of Carbondle.
Stanhouse, a former Du Quoin resident, was retired as a salesman for the Du Quoin Packing Co.
A World War II Veteran, he was a member of the First Christian Church of Du Quoin, the Du Quoin Elks Lodge, and Masonic Lodge 234 of DuQuoin.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Searby Funeral Home, Du Quoin, with the Rev. Robert L. Dailey officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m.Sunday.
Born in Du Quoin on January 15, 1915, the deceased was a son of the late Thomas and Martha (Winn) Stanhouse. he was married to June Clark in 1955. She preceded him in death. A brother, Tom, also is deceased.
Survivors include two daughter, Sandra Clark, Fenton, Mo., and Shirley Heape, Seminole, Fla.; a longtime friend, Lillian Higgins, Elkville; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
