Larkin Mead was a lawyer, publisher, treasurer of the Windham County Savings Bank, senator in the state legislature, 1847-1848; etc.

"The family resided at Chesterfield, Cheshire Co, NH and the first four children were born there. In June, 1839, they moved to Brattleboro, East village, and the last five children were born there" Elinor Mead Howells, "Hayes Ancestry", " " The Willows", Pepperell, Mass., Aug. 18, 1876.
