"Barry was serving as an officer in the Army, and had not been demobilized when he was killed in an airplane accident. He was piloting the plane at the time... He had graduated from Princeton in 1916 and was in China for a year teaching, and returned to volunteer for Army duty during the War. He was stationed at March Field, and was flying alone when his plane crashed."
