She graduated from an excellent academy in Putnam, Muskingum Co, OH about
18--. Valedictorian of her class, Queen of May, etc. (RBH recollections)..
There is a well-preserved daguerreotype of her in the Hayes Library; an oil portrait by C.T. Webber of her and an oil portrait made from the daguerreotype, bequeathed to the Hayes Museum by her grandson, Rutherford Platt, in 1975.
