George Seely Towar

(17 Jul 1885 - 2 Feb 1974)

"You know how the Towars are, don't you? Minnie Cook's sons. They live in Toledo now, and I understand Birchard [Hayes] to say they were managers of a large factory for making textile goods. Enormous orders for government necessitated an enlargement of the plant, so they moved from some town in Michigan to Toledo. Both are married, but George's wife is with her mother who is dying of cancer" Fanny Hayes, Spiegel Grove, to Mary Miller Hayes, July 21, 1918

"Do you remember George Towar, once of Detroit, but now of Toledo? He and his wife and two Detroit friends motored over this afternoon and made a little call [at Spiegel Grove]. The women were well-nigh perishing with cold, but a good fire and some hot tea soon set them up" Fanny Hayes, Spiegel Grove, to Mary Miller Hayes, Nov. 10, 1918.
