Milton E. Birchard

Milton Birchard graduated from Montrose High School. He taught school, but soon began his business as a farmer and creamery man in Forest Lake twp. . He ran one creamery for 17 years. Then he was elected Register and Recorder for Susquehanna Co., PA after which he was elected for three successive terms as Clerk of Orphans Court. On August 8, 1922, he was appointed Postmaster, Montrose, PA by President Calvin Coolidge, and served for four years.
