Franciska WILDNER

(20 Jan 1865 - 19 Jun 1943)

KEYS: W

Frances Wildner was a midwife and delivered many babies. She called a Doctor on only two occasions, once when twins were born and once when a mother had a long labor. Dr. Decker has said, "Without her knowledge and judgment, there was no doubt that many babies would not have lived."(See Ref:R1481) Martha Krzoska said that Frances delivered more than 70 in the Jennings & Lenox area with only one that did not survive. Frances learned to be a midwife from her mother. She also stated that Frances was often sent for when people needed a doctor, to care for an ill or injured person until the doctor could get there(See Ref:R1480).
