Notes
Will
Sons Jacob and Michael are granted privilege of executing his will.Property
The deed (Franklin County Deed Book 3:158), signed 15 May 1794 and recorded 22 May 1794, in which the heirs of Michael[Sr.] Helms sell his property to Jacob Sternaman not only describes the land, but also lists his heirs, i.e. his children. The land consisted of three adjoining parcels. One was purchased, one patented, and one only warranted and surveyed. The earliest parcel was purchased in 1760 (Franklin County Deed Book 1:537 – signed 15 May 1760 but not recorded until 3 Apr 1788). Michael Halm starts to appear in 1760 on the tax lists for what was then Antrim Twp, Cumberland Co. His property is identified adjoining a tract warranted to Edward Nichols that was surveyed 7 Feb 1761.
In the deed I assume the children are listed in birth-order sequence, but with separate sequences for the boys and the girls
