John Ewing "Ewing" Boyer

From Pamela Mounce Jackson: I have actually been to the family farm that was established in 1905, that my mother and her siblings visited in Somerset, KY. It has however, since been torn down, separated and sold. It has become a subdivision known as Boyer Lake Estates, overlooking Buck Creek in Somerset. The family their even has a cemetery at the church near where the farm stood that was donatedby the Boyer family. Hazy Brock Boyer is buried there, as well as my mother's aunt, and some of her 1st cousins. John and Samuel Boyer (brothers) married two sisters of German Desecent. Their wives parents were born in Germany. John Huter, Mary and Tresia Huter's father is buried at the Piney Grove Cemetery in McCreary County, where the family mostly settled, with the exception of Samuel Boyer, who settled on the aforementioned farm. The Boyers had at one time, a coal company, in McCreary County, Named Indian Head Coal Co, which was named after the area at the time.
