Nettie May Baker that lived in Williams Ohio, had a child with Aaron Zigler (Grace C Zigler) and was the daughter of Susannah Baker is the same person as
Nettie May Baker that lived in Iowa and married Joseph W Ross and John H Dotts.
My case is not perfect. Here are the supporting arguments.
- There is no conflicting census data. Nettie doesn't appear in two places at the same time.
- All Iowa marriage records list Susan(nah) Willis and J(acob) Baker. In 1880 Nettie is living in Williams, Ohio with mother Susannah Baker. Although in this census record, Nettie is listed as being born in Ohio (not Illinois), the niece that is living with them WAS born in Iowa, indicating there is some connection.
- Birth date and name match.
Arguments against and weaknesses:
- If the Netties are the same person, it means she was living in Ohio in 1880, married Joseph Ross in 1881, came back to Ohio to marry Aaron Zigler in 1883 and was back in Ohio in 1900. It's implied that she was a bigamist.
