Thomas Thomas

The death of Thomas Thomas occurred at his home Wednesday evening at ten minutes past 8:00. He was attacked by a paralytic stroke Monday afternoon, and this followed by pneumonia was a direct cause of his death. He apparently had been in good health and the news of his sudden illness and unexpected death came as a surprise to his many friends. The funeral will be held at the Congregationalist Church Friday morning at 11:00 and interment will be held at the Rock Creek Cemetery.
Thomas was born in Utica NY April 25 1831, six months after his parents had moved to this country from Wales. He was the youngest of 12 children and the only surviving member of his family. His parents moved to Delaware county Ohio when he was 3 years old.
When a young man he joined the Welsh Congregational Church at Radnor where he held his membership until he moved to Kansas. He joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Rock Creek. He held his membership there until the Congregational Church was organized at Wellsville, and transferred to that church. He has been a faithful and Consistent member.
At the age of 25, he was married to Elizabeth J. Jones (d/o) To this union ten children were born. Elizabeth passed away on June 24th of last year.
Mr. Thomas Came to Kansas in 1865 and setteled in Richland Township, where he made a beautiful home and where he lived until July of 1900, when he moved to Wellsville.
