William Evans emigrated from Wales to Delaware, Ohio in 1868 followed by his wife and son John E. in 1869 just after john was born. William joined the Welsh Church on Winter Street about 1870. His first wife Mary died in Delaware leaving him with 3 small children. He remarried to Elizabeth "Lizzie" Jones. They moved to Radnor where he resided the rest of his life. He moved his Church membership to the Radnor Congregational Church by letter in 1879. The last five years of his life he was totally blind but remained cheerful and had a pleasant greeting for all his friends and acquaintances.
