William B Williams was born in Montgomeryshire, Wales May 25 1806. When he was 3 years old his father died and his mother married Elias Jones. In 1818 the family emigrated to US landing in Philadelphia PA. William was apprenticed to a hotel keeper but left and came west to Radnor Ohio to rejoin the rest of the family. In 1828 (age 21) he purchased a farm in Troy Twp and continued to prosper buying additional tracks of land becoming a prosperous farmer. He and Margaret Davis were married in 1834. They had a family of 10 children.
