John Lewis Jones, 70 of Marion died Thursday November 10, 1949 in Marion City hospital. Death was due to a heart attack.
He was born June 14 1879 in Union County and was the son of Edward E. and Ella Lewis Jones. He married Edith Smart June 18 1900. She died Jul 21 1926. His second marriage was on Oct 7 1928 to Luella Day. He was a retired employee of Marion Power Shovel Co.
Surving is the widow and the following children, J. Edward, Anna May Laymon, Charles E., Eleanor Post, Eldon, Howard, Helen Hull and two sisters, Miss Jessie Jones and Mrs Anna Fields.
Funeral services were held at the Hughes Mortuary and Burial was in the Claibourne Cemetery in Richwood.
