John was born in Radnor Twp November 12 1855. He received his early education in Radnor. He entered Ohio Wesleyan and graduated in 1879. He farmed in Marion County for 3 years. When his father bought the grain warehous in Radnor he became a partner with his father. After his father died he continued to run the business alone. He added hardware and implements to the business. Whatever he has undertaken he has carried to success and is regarded as one of the most prosperous men in Delaware county.
