Joseph Foos was a Brig Gen during the war of 1812. Moved from PA to Tennessee to Kentucky to Franklinton, Oh. He lobbied for Franklinton to become Columbus during his political influence. He first married Lydia Nelson and they had 4 children before her death in 1804. He next married Margaret "Peggy" Phifer and they had 6 children.
