Valentine Dildine, farmer and stock-dealer was born in Radnor township, Delaware Co Ohio on August 22 1821. He is the son of Ralph and Effie (Minter) Dildine. The father Ralph was a native of New Jersey where he married and remained until just before 1812 when the family came to Montgomery Co. Ohio. Here the mother died leaving 5 children. He then came to Delaware Co where he remained until his death in 1855. Ralph's 2nd wife Effie Minter was Valentines mother.
