Reuben Lavender

(27 Aug 1841 - 12 Aug 1899)

In 1880 Ruben erected the house at 4093 route 257 Radnor Ohio. He used bricks recycled from a previous building on his father Thomas Lavender's Farm. The bricks were burned on the farm and first used in the building that housed a building materials business that Thomas ran in the 1840s and 50s. Ruben inherited the farm when his father died. He continued to run the farm until his death in 1899. The farm was purchased by John Utz about 1900. About 1920 Robert Gary purchased the land and the 2 houses.
