Individual Details
Henry P Perry
(1759 - Abt 1852)
Some have indicated that Henry's father died at Fferam Wales a few miles up the river Afon Alaw from Holyhead. Some have also said that his wife's surname was Jones instead of Roberts but that does not appear to be correct. Her birth place is listed as Flintshire. The borders of Flintshire have changed and even divided in two areas over the years. With little information, an exact location can not be given.
Henry came from Baltimore to Radnor, Ohio in 1803 with 2 sons (Levi and Ebenezer), They built a three sided cabin ( now, just north of the corner of Penry Road and Route. 203). He returned to Baltimore to bring Margaret and the rest of the children. However he became ill and did not get the family to Radnor until the next spring. This left the two young boys to winter in the cabin. The boys survived with the help of the local Indians and even had a garden going when the rest of the family arrived. This story has been used in various publications and even in cartoon story in a Columbus paper. Henry apparently died about 1852 it is said he is buried in Indiana near Levi but no proof has been found. Other death dates include 1839 in Radnor but he is listed in the 1840 census. Margaret died in 1831 and is buried in Radnor. Margaret's original head stone was broken off and apparently removed. A small replacement stone with was placed on her grave by the Radnor Heritage Society.
