On the 24th of August *1866*, near Bremen, Fairfield County, Ohio, of a protracted illness, Bro. Henry Brenneman, aged 74 years, 9 mo., and 23 days. He was buried on the 26th at Brenneman's meeting House where an approiate discourse was delivered by Wm. Marlow in English language from Tim. 4:7,8 and by Jacob Good in German language, from 2 Cor. 5:1. The Deceased was born in Rockingham County Virginia, on the 1st of November 1791. His father's name was Abraham and his grandfather's Melchiah (SIC. Melcher). In April of 1816, Henry removed from Virginia to Fairfield County Ohio about 12 miles SE of Lancaster where he resided until his death. He had three wives all of whom he survived. He was the father of 10 children, eight of whom (4 boys and 4 girls) are still living. Three of the sons are ministers of the Gospel and one a deacon. He has been a brother in the church for upwards of fifty-two years and led a consistent Christian life. He was a kind father, charitable and kind to the poor, bore his sickness with patience and Christian fortitude and never murmured but frequently expressed a desire to depart out of this world of trouble and pain. He expressed a sure hope in merits of his Saviour, and a few hours before he expired was hears praying to him to receive his soul.
