Thomas W Jones

Thomas W. Jones of Radnor passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov 29 2016 at Grady Hospital with his family around him.
He was born on September, 5 1922 in the same house that he lived for most of his life and was proceeded in death by his parents T.Arthur and Mabel Jones, Jones.
He was a member of Radnor High School Class of 1940 and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Agriculture where he was a proud member of Alpha Zeta Fraternity.
Tom enlisted Sept 8 1942 and served in the Army Air Coups in WW2 as a navigation instructor for the B24 Liberator. He maintained lifelong friendships with his army buddies and fraternity brothers.
Tom Jones and Freda Augestein were married on Aug 7 1948. Freda preceded him in death Jun 28 2000.
Following a long family tradition, Tom spent his life farming on his parents farm in Radnor. He was honored with a Century Farm Award for owning land in one family for over 100 years.
Tom's love for the soil continued into his retirement. In every open area on the farm, he grew vegetables and flowers which he always shared with family and friends.
Tom was a life member of the Radnor of the Radnor United Church of Christ a church attended by his parents and grandparents. Left to hornor his memory and carry on his traditions is his loving partner, Joan Wells, two daughters, Ann (Steve Wood) of Worthington, Carol (Bill Lathrop) of Marion, and son Mark (Penny) Jones also in Worthington. He enjoyed grandchildren, Bryn (Lathrop)(Christopher) and Darcy (Lathrop)(Tom). Parker and Spencer Jones, as well as his Great-grandson Gabriel.
The family wishs to extend warm thanks to the following special friends of Toms; Tim Sheehan, Don Goodin, Dale Miller and Dr. Mark Piacentini. All these friends enriched Tom's life.
