John Hord I

John Hord was very successful i.e. increasing the Sugar Grove Plantation from 200 acres in 1717 to more than 2000 acres in 1749. He also had another estate known as Liberty Hill at Portobago Bay where they spent the winter months.
He wrote his will some time between 1746 when he was paralyzed by a horse related accident and his death of 1749 which turned into a major disaster for the family.
