He was a carpenter, musician, worked for the Mead Paper Mill, Owen Illinois Paper Mill and also worked for a short time in the coal mines of West Virginia as a young man. He was a good and kind man and loved to play the banjo and fiddle for his children and grand children. He married his childhood sweetheart Minnie Cora Nichols. Resided in Charlemont, Bedford Co. Va. for a number of years with wife and children.
