8/22/2002 - Per Darlene Householder - Charles severed in the war in Hawaii. He was a mechanic. His mechanic friends and he made an unregistered vehicle out of spare parts - they used it to go to the beaches. Charles fell from the vehicle and broke his arm - receiving a purple heart.
