Vernon D. Stillion
Vernon D. Stillion, age 69, of Port Washington, OH, passed away Friday morning at the home following an extended illness. Born in Guernsey County, OH on December 10, 1931, he had lived thegreater portion of his life in the Canton area. He was a retired employee of Republic Steel Corp., where he had worked for 30 years and he was also a former Deputy with the Stark County Sheriff Dept. Auxiliary. He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Stillion; his sister, Fern Havers; his father, John C. Stillion; and mother, Carrie Henson. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew and Kate Stillion of Munith, MI, Daniel and Diane Stillion of Massillon; two stepdaughters, Sandra of Warren and Dianne of Canton; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Stillion of Canton; and sister, Ruth Johnson of Minerva, OH. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Henniger officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours at the funeral home Monday 7-9 p.m.
