He is shown as the brother of Malcolm Prater, in the 1940 Census, and thus the son of Thomas Prater and Elizabeth Milam. But Elizabeth would have had to be 62 years old to have had him, and Kentucky Birth Index has his mother as Pearl McKinzie. So either Pearl was a late second marriage, or she was married to one of his sons, perhaps Willie. Considering that Tom would have been 44 years older than her, the latter is more logical, but do not know which one, and this may have been a non-marital relationship as well.
