His 12 September 1918 W. W. I draft registration card lists his name as Earl Blain Bradford (he also signed the card with this name), address: Box 608, Maricopa, Kern, California. His occupation is listed as drilling for H. P. Payne. Nearest relative: William P. Bradford (father) of Marion, Indiana. Physical description: tall, slender, blue eyes, light hair.

His obituary in the Marion Leader-Tribune of 5 November 1918 states that Earl died on 3 November 1918 and that his brothers and sisters had arrived in Marion as they gathered for his funeral. His obituary in the Marion, Indiana Chronicle of 9 November 1918 says that he was the first to die of sixteen children in the family. It states that his body arrived in Marion from Bakersfield, California on November 9, 1918 and that his funeral would be on 11 November 1918. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias of Marion. Funeral was at the First M. E. Church in Marion.
