Hans Jakob Bar

Hans Bar, his wife, Anna Barbara Frederick, and eight children came to America by 1721. In 1709, Hans was a servant at the Bocken estate in Horgen District, Canton Zurich. Between 1715 and 1718, he moved within the Palatinate from Sinseim to Suhren. In 1719 he sold his Haus und Hof in Duhren and emigrated to America, where he was taxed in "Conestogoe" in 1721. In 1743 Hans warranted land in present-day Manheim Township: the Prinetown covered bridge over the Conestoga River is on his land.
