Waldo Newcomer

Waldo Newcomer was sickly during his youth and received home tutoring. He graduated from John Hopkins University in 1889. He worked his way from clerk to secretary of the Atlantic Transport Company. He left that position to become second vice president of the Atlantic Coast Line Company. Next, be served as president of the National Exchange Bank of Baltimore. He was treasurer for the Maryland School for the Blind and for the Merchantile Library. He served on the commission to revise the Baltimore city charter. He printed a memorial volume of his father, Frank Newcomer, in 1902.
