Jacob Hostetter was a farmer and a Mennonite bishop, having been ordained a bishop in Switzerland. He came to America in 1717, and warranted 250 acres along the Conestoga River in what is now Engleside in 1718 February 18, 700 acres (along with Jacob Kreytor) 1718 May 28, 150 acres 1734 June 5, and 475 acres in Manor Township in 1741 July 30. Jacob never was naturalized, even though he signed the Declaration of Loyalty in 1728.
