Samuel G. Trine
(29 Apr 1835 - 10 Mar 1908)
Samuel Trine moved to Ogle County, Illinois from Washington County, Maryland in 1848. On 14 August 1862 he enlisted in Company F, 92nd Regiment, IVI. In late 1863 he was appointed Capitan of Company B, 13th Regiment United States Colored troops. Then, in early 1865, he joined the Navy under the command of Capitan William H. Goudy. During his service in the military, Samuel fought in the battles of Oak Ridge, Nashville and Franklin, Tennesse, as well as the taking of Mobile, Alabama and the capture of General Morgan.
