Dr. Paschal Chambers studied at Hanover College in Indiana, at Miami Univeristy in Oxford, Ohio, and at Louisville Medical College, graduating in 1850. Paschal practiced medicine in Dover, Missouri, from 1850 to 1867, when he moved to Lexington, Kentucky, and practiced medicine. During the Civil War, he tended to the care of soldiers from both sides. He was arrested by the United States and imprisoned at Gratiot Prison in Saint Louis, Missouri, for seven weeks.
