William Logan served in the United States Senate. Before that, he was a delegate to the Kentucky Constitutional Convention in 1799; a member of the Kentucky General Assembly, where he served as Speaker from 1804-1806; and he served as a Judge for the Kentucky Court of Appeals. He resigned from the US Senate to run for Governor, but lost the 1820 election.
