Oliver Hershey Swingley

(17 Jul 1842 - 17 Jun 1917)

Oliver Swingley served in Company D, 4th and 12th Illinois Calvary during the Civil War. After the war, he ran a drug store beginning in 1868. Later he operated a jewelry store and worked as a bank cashier and auditor for the Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha, Nebraska. From 1882 to 1886 he was the Mount Morris postmaster.
