Peter Humrichouse

Peter Humrichouse was a soldier during the Revolutionary War. In December 1776 at Trenton, New Jersey he was sent by General George Washington to enemy lines with a truce flag to bury American dead. Peter late was sent by Washington to deliver gun powder to troops at Yorktown and Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Peter and his wife, Mary Post, moved to Hagerstown, Maryland from Germantown, Pennsylvania to escape a yellow fever epidemic that killed 10% of Philadephia's 40,000 people in 1793.
