Sarah Emmert

Sarah Emmert went to live with her grandfather, Jonathan Newcomer. He lived in Benevola and ran a store. At age 12 her grandfather died, and Sarah Emmert returned to live with her father, Leonard Emmert, and his second wife, Sarah Behler. In 1906 Sarah Emmert and John Shifler, her husband, were retired from farming and living in Boonsboro, Washington, Maryland.
