Individual Details

Frederick Rohrer Senior

(28 Jul 1742 - 21 Sep 1823)

Frederick Rohrer came to America in 1760, during the War between France and England--the French and Indian War in America. Other dates include Williams who gave 1729 as the date on page 1121. Whether this date is incorrect or refers to another Rohrer is unclear.

Frederick lived for many years in Washington County, Maryland. Although born in France, his heritage was Germanic.

Williams listed different sets of children for Frederick Rohrer. Six children are on both lists: Jonathan, Frederick, Jr., Samuel, Susan, Betsey and David. Five children are listed on page 963 only: Daniel, Jeremiah, Sophia, John and Maria. Three children listed on page 964 only: Christopher, Martha and Mary. In the paragraph before Williams listed the children on page 964, he mentioned that there were nine children, but he listed eleven. The dates for Jeremiah were forty years off on the records given for his wife, Melinda Mullendore. I have concluded that page 964 is accurate.
