Martin, Jacob, Jr. and John Peifer, all brothers received their father's farm land. Martin Peifer sold his land to his brother-in-law, Henry Hershey, who had married Elizabeth Greider/Kreider, sister of Martin's wife Anna. Martin then purchased land from Jacob Oberholtzer at the headwaters of the Little Conestoga Creek.
