George Henton study medicine in several American universities and in clinics in Vienna, Paris, Berlin and London. He practiced ophthalmology in Portland, Oregon. In World War I, George served as a 1st Lt. in the Medical Corp of the Army. In private life, he belonged to Kiwanis, Knight Templar, Shrine and Sons of the American Revolution. A Republican in politics, he belonged to the Congregational Church.
